We are facing an epidemic of pornography on the Internet of which the repercussions are still not fully understood. In fact it is frightening. With the click of a mouse, anyone, at any age, at any time can view porn online.

The porn industry has were able to hold onto the idea that porn is victimless entertainment which involves only an individual and the consenting adults who participate. Regulations has yet to catch up with reality and with technology. In a world where anyone can produce and upload porn videos or images, the web is becoming filled to the brim with hardcore pornography and disturbing content that no one should be exposed to, aside from our children!
A report from the Witherspoon Institute in Princeton, N.J.,entitled, “The Social Costs of Pornography” points to new social science and brain research, and finds evidence that pornography causes multifaceted harms and warns that people will pay the price for this.
Porn is teaching negative behaviors and attitudes towards sexuality. Even though for adults this can be a big problem, for children which are seeing it, it is just a disaster that can impact their ability to have any sort of healthy sexual relationship when they grow up.
There is no level of education or warning that can prevent children from viewing pornography on the net today. The average child will see porn by age eleven online. Children are curious, children share links by email, by chat, on smart phones… The only real solution today is to install a porn filter on each computer that your child has access to. In the home, friends, grandparents, school, the library, make certain a porn filter is installed on the computer. Demand it. It will not go away in the event that you ignore it.
